LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2016) One week remains to nominate individuals for the 2017 University of Kentucky Libraries Medallion for Intellectual Achievement. Nominations for the honor will be accepted through Aug. 19.

The UK Libraries Medallion for Intellectual Achievement, one of UK's most prestigious honors, was first awarded in 1990 to recognize high intellectual achievement by Kentuckians and to encourage education and promote creative thought. To be eligible, nominees must be a Kentucky native or had more than three years of study, work or residency in Kentucky.

To nominate an individual for the Medallion for Intellectual Achievement, submit the completed form and a statement of nomination (no longer than one-page typed) describing the nominee's work, its significance and endorsements/verification of the work. Supporting materials can be submitted if desired.

The general public is welcome to submit nominations for the UK Libraries Medallion for Intellectual Achievement. More information can be found online here, along with the 2017 nomination form
