UK Wins 13 Awards at CASE Kentucky Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 22, 2011) — The University of Kentucky received a total of 13 awards for excellence in development, alumni relations and communications in the annual competition sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Kentucky. Awards were presented at the organization’s conference held this year at the Hilton Lexington Downtown hotel on Dec. 9.    

Six of UK’s awards were at the grand champion level, the highest award presented in the competition.

UK’s Office of Development won grand champion awards for a series of philanthropic ads, its gift and estate planning tabloid and the Fellows Society brochure which received a grand champion award in two different categories.

The UK Alumni Association received a grand champion award for its alumni club leadership training program and its 2011 member calendar.

CASE Kentucky is a statewide organization that serves advancement professionals in alumni relations, advancement services, development and communications at more than 70 colleges, universities, private secondary and elementary schools and other educational organizations. CASE Kentucky is also part of CASE District III, which includes educational institutions in the southeastern portion of the United States, and the national CASE organization.

CASE Kentucky offered awards in a total of 52 categories. And in each category, judges could award one grand champion award, up to two awards of excellence and as many as three special merit awards.

“We are pleased for the recognition these awards bring to the University of Kentucky,” said Mike Richey, UK vice president for Development and chief development officer. “It’s always gratifying when our work to advance the university is judged to be outstanding by our professional peers.”
