WUKY 91.3 FM Broadcasts 'Dinner Party'

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 9, 2011) — "The Dinner Party" is a pilot show that is airing  on WUKY 91.3 FM, the University of Kentucky's NPR station.  "The Dinner Party" is only being offered to stations in a few select markets, WUKY being one of them. It can be heard at noon on Saturdays during the month of November.

Only six shows have been produced to date, and producers of "The Dinner Party" and WUKY encourage you to listen and provide them with your thoughts.  Let WUKY know what you think about the new program on Facebook or at www.wuky.org.

If you are looking for a fast and funny “booster shot” of news and culture to help you dazzle your friends and family at this weekend’s dinner party, this new show fits the bill. Produced by American Public Media, the same company that brings you "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Marketplace," "The Dinner Party" can help you:  learn a joke; get the week’s major headlines; bone up on some history; drink in a cocktail recipe; meet an artist of note; savor an emerging food trend; and hear a new favorite song. Join hosts Rico Gagliano and Brendan Francis Newnam for some unconventional wisdom.

WUKY 91.3FM enlightens, inspires, and entertains its audience through the creation and presentation of the highest quality non-commercial radio programming. Through comprehensive, unbiased news coverage, unique musical offerings, and community partnerships, WUKY fosters civic development, celebrates cultural diversity, and advances the mission of the University of Kentucky.
