Events Offer Convenient Bicycle Registration
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 9, 2009) – Since the July 1 start of bicycle registration, University of Kentucky Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) has issued more than 2,200 permits.
University regulations require all members of the campus community who plan to park their bicycle on campus to obtain and display a valid bicycle permit.
Bicycle permits are required by Thursday, Oct. 1. Bicycles parked on campus without valid registration may be subject to citation and/or impoundment. The permits are decals, which are available free of charge. There is no registration fee for this program.
PTS staff members are offering registration events on campus during the next two weeks. Staff members will answer questions, help locate serial numbers and distribute information as well as register bicycles. The events will be held at the following times and locations:
-- Thursday, Sept. 10, 8:30-10:30 a.m., at Commonwealth Stadium (near the Student Bus Shelter)
-- Monday, Sept. 14, 1-3:30 p.m., in the Funkhouser / Chemistry-Physics Area
-- Wednesday, Sept. 16, 9-11 a.m., at Whitehall Classroom Building
-- Thursday, Sept. 17, 8:30-10:30 a.m., at Kentucky Clinic
-- Thursday, Sept. 17, 1-3:30 p.m., at| Whitehall Classroom Building
Bicycle permits also may be obtained online at www.uky.edu/Parking and at Parking Structure #6 (721 Press Ave.), Parking Structure #5 (located next to Kennedy Book Store) or 110 Transcript Avenue (UK HealthCare Parking Garage). Customers ordering permits online should allow up to one week for processing and delivery.
