Transit and Parking Announcements

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 25, 2009) - Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 25, Parking & Transportation Services’ (PTS) operations will have several changes due to the decreased demand over the Thanksgiving holiday.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, the regular CATS routes (Red, White, Blue, and Yellow) and LexTran Stadium Route service will not be running. CATS buses will operate on the Summer/Break Route schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Medical Center and Kentucky Clinic Routes will operate as normal.

No campus buses will run Thursday, Nov. 26 through Saturday, Nov. 28. On Sunday, November 29, the CATS Bus On-Demand Service will run its normal schedule of 7:00 p.m. – midnight. All campus bus services will resume a normal schedule on Monday, Nov. 30.

Campus parking lots will not be controlled for parking permits on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27.

Also, the final home football game of the season is Saturday, Nov. 28, against Tennessee. PTS would like to remind the campus community about parking policies for the game.

Students and employees who park at Commonwealth Stadium or on University Drive must move their vehicles before 9:00 a.m. on the days of home football games. Students who are leaving their vehicles on campus over Thanksgiving Break may park in any Employee (E) lot on campus after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, with the exception of the E/C2 lot, the E lot behind the Gluck Equine Research Center, the 24-hour E lot behind the Nutter Football Training Center, the 24-hour E spaces by Ingels Hall, the 24-hour E lot behind the W. T. Young Library and Parking Structure #7.

Vehicles must be moved back by 5:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
