UK Drops Behind UT in Crush, Give Blood Today!

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 20, 2009) - Heading into the final day of the Big Blue Crush, the University of Tennessee has taken over the lead by 40 pints of blood. The University of Kentucky, working with the Kentucky Blood Center, has received 2,610 donations, compared to UT's 2,650.

Today, Friday, Nov. 20, is the final day of the blood donation competition, so UK and KBC need 1,000 people to roll up their sleeves and bleed blue today by making a donation at any of the following sites:

Mobiles:

Fayette County

UK Chandler Hospital, Room H-133, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Conference Room, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Harlan County                     

The Harlan Center, 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Kentucky Blood Center Sites:

Fayette County                    

Beaumont site at 3121 Beaumont Centre Circle, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Andover site at 3130 Mapleleaf Drive, Suite 103, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pike County                        

Pikeville, 4721 South Mayo Trail, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pulaski County

Somerset, 120 South Highway 27, Suite 4, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Donors will receive a McDonald's gift card and a Big Blue Crush T-shirt as well as be entered into drawings for game tickets and Rich Brooks autographed footballs.
