Armed Robbery Reported on Campus

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 14, 2017) — University of Kentucky Police are investigating the report of an armed robbery at Parking Structure #2 at 301 Hilltop on the Lexington campus. 

UK Police report no injuries in the incident that occurred around 2:20 p.m. today.  The suspect reportedly approached the victim with a knife, took an undisclosed amount of money and ran away toward Rose Street.

The suspect is described as a white male, over 6-feet tall, with a slender build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

A UK Alert was issued around 2:40 p.m., and the all clear was sent around 3 p.m.

  • If you notice anything suspicious, go to the nearest phone and call 911.Carry a cell phone or other personal safety device.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and of the activities of people around you.
  • Do not travel alone after dark; always walk with a friend or with a group. 
  • Request a FREE SAFECATS student safety escort or coordinate after-hours on-demand bus service by calling the University’s One Number coordinated student safety services program at 257-SAFE(7233).
  • Park only in well lit areas.
  • Turn over any requested items (purse, wallet, etc).
  • Make statements with authority -- BACK-OFF! STOP! NO-WAY!  Never comply with being moved to another location, FIGHT BACK!
