Big Blue Slam Battle Is Very Close

LEXINGTON, KY. (March 4, 2010)  – Kentucky overcame a Florida surge and remains in the lead after the third day of Big Blue Slam.

Kentucky had 318 donors on Wednesday for a three-day total of 897. Florida, with 365 donors, trails closely at 888.

All donors will receive a Big Blue Slam T-shirt, and everyone who registers to give blood will be automatically entered into a daily prize drawing for a Fan Fun Basket, as well as a trip for two to the NCAA Final Four weekend in Indianapolis.

In addition to its four donor centers located in Lexington, Somerset and Pikeville, Kentucky Blood Center will host more than 35 blood drives during Big Blue Slam. To make an appointment to donate blood or find the closest blood drive to you, visit www.kybloodcenter.org or call 800-775-2522.
