The Cats Den Rolls On
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 9, 2010) –The Cats Den is picking up speed and there's no sign of it slowing down. The coordinators have put together another action-packed week featuring a video game tournament, a concert, a comedian and a thrift store formal.
The events range Monday through Thursday with an event every night in between. Monday, Sept. 13, is a Madden Football Video Game Tournament at 7 p.m. Following that is Acoustic Night on the Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Sept. 15, there will be an 8 p.m. Comedy Caravan show. Thursday will cap off the week with an 8 p.m. Thrift Store Formal.
Madden Football is not only free to play, but also free to win. The Cats Den is offering prizes in the form of games, T-shirts and free-play cards. Come out and see who has the best skills at this EA Sports co-sponsored event.
Brooke Annibale, a Pittsburgh native, headlines Acoustic Night Sept. 14. Not only does her music embody everything the term acoustic suggests, but she has added a flavor of pop, a dash of folk and a light infusion of blues. It's no wonder that this talented singer-songwriter has already released two full-length albums at the age of 23.
Nicholas Anthony headlines the Comedy Caravan show on Sept. 15. This first-place winner of the Las Vegas Comedy Festival has appeared on two seasons of NBC's “Last Comic Standing.” His curiosity is what gives him both his spunk and his material
The Thrift Store Formal brings back a twinge of nostalgia for everyone. Come and see the treasure trove people once thought of as trash. Get creative and make the best outfit you can think of! Dress in the style of the ’90s, ’80s, ’70s or even older, or come dressed in your own style. The best dressed at the formal wins a prize.
All events are in the Cats Den, which is located on the bottom floor of the old addition of the Student Center. These Cats Den events are free to UK students, staff and faculty.
