College of Arts and Sciences' Podcast Features the Year of Russia

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2012) The College of Arts and Sciences produces podcasts that demonstrate work being done by the faculty and students in the college. Each week, UKNow will highlight a podcast. This week focuses on the Year of Russia.

Jeanmarie Rouhier-Willoughby, chair of the Department of Modern & Classical Languages, Literatures & Cultures, and Karen Petrone, chair of the Department of History, proposed the next stop on the Passport to the World. For the 2012-2013 school year, Arts & Sciences will focus on Russia and its neighbors.

In this podcast, Petrone and Rouhier-Willoughby discuss what makes the region unique, why it is important to study and what various departments and faculty will bring to UK to "Reimagine Russia’s Realms." The Passport to the World initiative is sponsored by the A&S Advisory Board.
