Construction to Impact University Drive Beginning Monday, July 9

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 6, 2018) — Beginning Monday, July 9, construction will impact traffic on the south end of University Drive between the Orange Lot entrance and the Alumni Drive roundabout on the University of Kentucky campus.  Plans associated with the south campus transit improvement projects require trenching across University Drive in an effort to improve storm water management.  Two-way traffic will be maintained during the morning and afternoon peak commute periods.  However, University Drive will be reduced to one lane between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During this period, traffic flow will be regulated by electronic signals, which will allow for alternating safe passage through the construction zone.

Construction is scheduled to last approximately three weeks.  However, as always, construction is weather-dependent and the timetable is subject to change.  Please allow extra time for your commute and use caution as you navigate the area.  Employees whose commute normally takes them through this area are encouraged to consider taking alternate routes for the duration of this construction impact.
