The Doctors Can See You Now

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 27, 2010)− Doctor of Medicine degrees were awarded to 94 University of Kentucky College of Medicine students at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 15, at the UK Singletary Center for the Arts.

The top specialties chosen by this year's students were: internal medicine, 21 percent; pediatrics, 11 percent; medicine/pediatrics, nine percent; and anesthesiology, eight percent.

At the ceremony, the graduating class selected two honorary class members, posthumously, William Markesbery, M.D., and Richard Schwartz, M.D. Mrs. Markesbery and Mrs. Schwartz accepted the certificates of honorary class membership on their behalf.

This year the UK College of Medicine celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
