If Heading to UK Basketball Game, Remember Nearby Construction Impacts on Traffic
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 26, 2018) — Fans on their way to Friday’s University of Kentucky-Transylvania University game in Rupp Arena need to be aware of several ongoing construction projects in downtown Lexington.
Travel is slow on High Street near its intersection with South Broadway because of construction there. The Jefferson Street bridge, which runs between West Main Street and West High Street, is closed for demolition. Motorists will be able to use a small portion of the bridge to drive from High Street onto Manchester Street. Midland Avenue is down to one outbound lane and one inbound lane because of sewer construction work.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the downtown area and to factor in extra travel time.
