Parking Restrictions on Streets Near Campus, Two Garages During UK Basketball Game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 24, 2017) ― As the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team heads into NCAA Sweet 16 action, the UK Police Department is making the campus community aware of parking restrictions in two UK parking garages as well as restrictions placed by the Lexington Police Department on streets near the UK campus.

The Lexington Police Department will prohibit parking from 6 p.m. Friday, March 24, to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 25, on the following streets:

  • Limestone – Avenue of Champions to Maxwell
  • Pine Street – Upper to Limestone
  • Jersey Street – Euclid to Maxwell
  • Maxwell – Upper to Limestone
  • Transcript Avenue
  • Journal Avenue
  • Conn Terrace
  • State Street
  • University Avenue
  • Elizabeth Street
  • Crescent Avenue
  • Scott Street (meters in front of Fire Department Station 6)

"No Parking" notices have been issued in these areas and vehicles in violation will be towed at the owners' expense beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.  

Also, from 6 a.m. Friday, March 24 to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 25, UK Police will restrict parking on the top levels of the Good Samaritan parking garage (Level H) on South Limestone and the Chandler Hospital parking garage (Parking Structure #8) on Conn Terrace.  Lexington Police will park their vehicles and stage other equipment on those sites.
