Parking & Transportation Services Offers Spring Semester K, Evening Permits Online
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 8, 2011) – Beginning Monday, Dec. 12, University of Kentucky Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) will once again offer student spring semester-only permits for sale on the PTS website, www.uky.edu/pts.
UK and BCTC students seeking K and evening permits for the 2012 spring semester must apply online through the Parking Account Manager. UK students must use their link blue login and password in order to apply for a permit online. BCTC students must use their KCTCS username and password.
The Parking Account Manager allows users to manage some of their own information, such as adding a new vehicle license plate to their account, as well as purchasing a permit once logged into the system — all in real time.
The K lots at Commonwealth Stadium will not be controlled for permits during the semester break, Saturday, Dec. 17 through Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012. To allow new students time to purchase K permits once they arrive on campus, the date the K lots will begin being controlled for permits will be extended to Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. All other lots will resume normal control on Monday, Jan. 9.
The cut-off date for online permit application is Monday, Jan. 9, 2012. Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, students may come to Parking and Transportation Services, located in Parking Structure #6 (721 Press Avenue), to purchase permits over the counter.
Eligible students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade a K permit may submit a lottery request online for C and R permits through the Parking Account Manager. Eligibility criteria must be met to purchase the desired permit. Drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of the semester and notification is sent via email.
New students are encouraged to visit the New Student Parking Information page for maps, frequently asked questions, and more.
