Portion of Woodland Avenue to Close for Construction
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 5, 2013) ― Today, Monday, Aug. 5, the section of Woodland Avenue between Rose Lane and Columbia Avenue will shut down to through traffic to support the first phase of the Woodland Avenue sanitary sewer project.
Through traffic will be detoured using Rose Lane, Rose Street and Columbia Avenue. A map of the affected area is available at this link on the University of Kentucky Parking and Transportation website: http://www.uky.edu/pts/sites/www.uky.edu.pts/files/enews_images/woodland-glen-sanitary-work.gif.
This project is designed to install the sewer line for the Woodland Glen residence halls. This phase is expected to last until late October.
Anyone who normally travels in the vicinity should allow extra time for their commute. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution as they navigate the area.
