Transportation Services Announces Calendar for 2017-2018 Permit Sales

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 12, 2017) As announced last week, University of Kentucky Transportation Services is offering a wider variety of parking permit choices for the 2017-2018 academic year. The permits span a range of choices at various prices, reflecting the relative desirability, location, and predictability of the parking. The timing of permit sales is outlined below.

Employee Calendar

All times are noon.

April 17-May 1:             

Transportation Services accepting applications for core permit lottery.

May 1:                               

Reserved permit renewals begin.

May 2:

Core lottery winners notified and sales begin.

May 24:                                            

Intermediate employee permit (traditional E permit option) sales begin.

 

The 2017-2018 employee permits are required beginning Saturday, July 1.

Student Calendar

All times are noon.

June 1-June 14:            

Residential permit pre-sale period (returning students only).

June 7-June 21:            

Commuter permit pre-sale period (commuter permits renewals only).

June 15:                                            

Residential permit sales open to all eligible students.

June 22:                                            

Commuter permit sales open for all eligible students.

July 10:                              

Sales begin for periphery (K) permits, remote (X) permits, off-peak permits and C16 permits.

In addition to the vehicle parking permit options, Transportation Services also offers a number of free and financially incentivized alternative transportation programs for both employees and students, including free rides on Lextran with the BluPass program, the pilot “cash out” incentive program for employees who opt out of bringing a car to campus for a year, and the complementary Big Blue Cycles and bicycle voucher programs.
