UPDATE: Woodland Avenue Remains Closed to Through Traffic Another Day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 31, 2013) ― Woodland Avenue will remain closed at least until Friday, Nov. 1, from Hilltop to Columbia to avoid a collapse of the street in the construction zone there.  Weather is impeding efforts to stabilize the road quickly. Wind gusts today have affected use of a crane on site, and heavy rain is expected tonight.

Crews continue to work, and Woodland remains closed to all through traffic including vehicle, bicycle, moped and pedestrian traffic.

University of Kentucky Police urges everyone to avoid the area. UK employees exiting Parking Structure #2 are advised to use University Drive. Traffic control is on the scene. Delays are expected in the area. Please use caution.
