VIDEO: Get to Know UK Provost David Blackwell

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 23, 2018) — For University of Kentucky Provost David W. Blackwell leading is all about serving.

"I try to practice what some call, and I call, servant leadership," Blackwell said. "I believe that’s consistent with the role of a coach. It’s that you’re serving your colleagues, you're serving the students, you're serving the faculty … to enable the greater success of the university."

Before being appointed as provost earlier this year, Blackwell served as professor of finance and dean of the Gatton College of Business and Economics at UK from 2012 to 2018.
