Thanksgiving Break Parking and Shuttle Changes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 23, 2015) — Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 24, Parking & Transportation Services’ (PTS) operations will have several changes due to the decreased demand over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Due to the home football game Saturday, Nov. 28, students and employees who normally park in the areas surrounding Commonwealth Stadium must move their vehicles before leaving for Thanksgiving break. Impacted permit holders may relocate to non-gated E areas found in the map on the football game day parking page starting at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Parking is prohibited on University Drive at any time on game days. Students leaving campus prior to noon Tuesday who park in the K areas may email ukparking@lsv.uky.edu to make special parking arrangements.

All non-gated employee (E) lots and residential (R) lots, with the exception of R17 (Wildcat Coal Lodge), will not be controlled for parking permits beginning at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 29. However, normal football game day parking restrictions will remain in place on Saturday, Nov. 28.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, the Blue and White Routes (Lextran 14), the Night Route and the On-Demand bus service will not run. Campus buses will operate on the summer/break route schedule from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Purple Route (UK HealthCare), Pink Route (Kentucky Clinic) and MoveWell Shuttle will all operate as normal.

No campus buses will run Thursday, Nov. 26 through Saturday, Nov, 28. On Sunday, Nov. 29, the On-Demand bus service will operate during its normal service hours (7 p.m. to midnight). All other campus bus service will resume a normal schedule on Monday, Nov. 30.
