Who's Got Game?

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 26, 2016)  Do you think you have what it takes to be the next FIFA champion? Students can sign up to challenge others on campus in the Xbox game, FIFA 2016, as Student Activities Board (SAB) and University of Kentucky Athletics will host their first ever FIFA tournament on Sept. 27. This tournament will be a two-day tournament continuing through Sept. 29 at the Athletic Suites in the Bell Soccer/Cropp Stadium complex. It will be a collaboration between the SAB Pop Culture and Campus Life committees and UK Athletics. Every participant will receive a gift and the top eight finishers will win a special prize.

The video game FIFA has taken the world by storm since its launch in 2011. FIFA had the most successful video game launch in history and holds the record for fastest selling video game ever. Students who love the game can come out and test their skills with other students on campus. The champion will even win a brand new Xbox gaming console. All winners are required to go to the men’s soccer game beginning 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. For sign-ups, students can visit www.uksab.org/.

“We are so excited to work with UK Athletics and to have created such a cool event that anyone can be involved in,” said Libby Langlois, director of Pop Culture. “Who wouldn’t want to win Big Blue Madness tickets? We hope to reach a variety of students and provide a fun time for all of those involved!”
