WUKY's Phoenix Fridays Series Adds Extra Concert Sept. 16

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 13, 2016) — WUKY's Phoenix Fridays concert series has announced one additional show for the season to take place Sept. 16. Justin Wells, Derik Hultquist and Anthony D'Amato will perform.

The Phoenix Fridays series offers free, outdoor concerts created by WUKY and produced by the Downtown Lexington Corporation. This Friday's concert is scheduled for 5-9:30 p.m. in Phoenix Park at the corner of Main and Limestone in downtown Lexington.

The concert opens with country singer and songwriter Justin Wells of Lexington, formerly with the local band Fifth on the Floor.  He will be followed by singer and songwriter Derik Hultquist of Tennessee, a pop and roots rock musician. And headlining the evening is Anthony D’Amato, an indie folk and rock singer and songwriter from New Jersey.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and performances start at 5:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

“The 2014 & 2015 Phoenix Fridays series was proof that Lexington not only loves great live music, they also want to come together in the heart of downtown, Phoenix Park," said Mike Graves, WUKY music director. "With each new series expect more fantastic bands, great food and refreshments and the best of what Lexington has to offer… its people.”
