College of Public Health to Hold Summer Series on Aging

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 30, 2012) The University of Kentucky College of Public Health will hold its 29th Annual Summer Series on Aging, one of the premier aging conferences in the nation, June 4-6 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa in Lexington.

The focus of the annual conference is to provide a forum for professionals to share the most up-to-date information in geriatrics and gerontology from a broad-based multidisciplinary perspective. The conference provides innovative and practical information for professionals in case management, health education, home health, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, long-term care, service provision, social work, state and regional aging planning, and other professions in the field.
 

The keynote speaker is Dr. Gregg Warshaw, director of the geriatric medicine program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Martha Betty Semmons Professor of Geriatric Medicine. Other featured presenters include: Lisa Gwyther, associate professor in the Duke Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and a Senior Fellow at Duke's Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development and director of the Education for the Bryan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Duke University Medical Center; Dr. Greg Jicha, assistant professor of Neurology in the UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging; Jay Westbrook, clinical director of Compassionate Journey; and Jan Montague, president of Whole-Person Wellness Solutions Inc.
