Let’s Get Physical! - Come out to the Annual DanceBlue 5K
LEXINGTON, Ky (Oct. 3, 2019) — It’s time to break out your running shoes! The annual University of Kentucky DanceBlue 5K will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Kroger Field. The 5K, a 3.1 mile run, is a tradition for both UK and the Lexington community as it kicks off UK’s Homecoming Week, the highest spirit point event of the year for DanceBlue teams. This is also a fun way for families and friends to spend a Sunday afternoon together. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic. All are welcome to participate.
Register online here or at the 5K with a $5 increase in the registration fee. Packet pick-up will be from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the DanceBlue Office at the Gatton Student Center, Room A262.
UK students participating in the 2020 DanceBlue Marathon will be able to earn spirit points for their team. For every dancer registered, the dancer’s team will be awarded 10 points. Also, if the dancers pick up their packets in the designated packet pick-up time, they will earn an additional spirit point.
DanceBlue is the University of Kentucky's 24-hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon that benefits the Golden Matrix Fund. The DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic opened its brand new facility in 2017 after a complete renovation funded solely from DanceBlue philanthropic funding.
