UK OLLI, Origins Jazz Series host jazz singer Kandace Springs
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 28, 2023) — The University of Kentucky Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and Origins Jazz Series will host jazz singer Kandace Springs. The concert will take place 5 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the Singletary Center for the Arts.
“We are excited to welcome Kandace Springs to UK’s campus to perform a variety of jazz classics for the UK and Lexington communities," said Joey Conrad, director of OLLI. "April 2 is sure to be a wonderful evening of great music that you won’t want to miss.”
Tickets will be $10 for OLLI members, $15 for Origins Jazz Series members, $25 general admission and $5 for UK students.

About Kandace Springs
Kandace Springs is a pianist and vocalist whose 2014 self-titled EP turned even more heads and led to late night performances on David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, as well as the Afropunk and Bonnaroo festivals. Okayplayer called her “a vocal force to be reckoned with” and Afropunk dubbed her “a versatile and vital artist.”
Kandace’s 2016 debut album "Soul Eyes" presented an already remarkably mature artistic voice with an album that touched upon soul and pop while channeling her jazz influences as well as her Nashville upbringing. MOJO marveled at the album’s “sensuous vocals with minimalist yet elegant arrangements” while The Guardian raved that “she has a rare ability that can’t be taught — to sound like an old soul, just doing what comes naturally.”
