Ebersole To Lead Dental Research Association

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 23, 2010) − Jeff Ebersole, associate dean for Research and director of the Center for Oral Health Research at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry has been elected president of the American Association of Dental Research (AADR) for 2010-11.

The AADR provides an invaluable service to all dental, oral and craniofacial researchers, including those at dental schools, other health professional schools, industry institutions, as well as in the biotech sector. As the only non-profit association of its kind, the organization strives to bring their members the latest news updates, research reports, educational programs and networking opportunities for the dental research community.

"Dr. Ebersole’s many years as a front line researcher, teacher of student dentists, and mentor for young up and coming researchers make him an ideal person to serve as president of the AADR," said Sharon Turner, dean of the College of Dentistry. "He has helped build a very solid research base here at UKCD and is willing to give of himself to help others nationwide advance research in dental and oral health areas to lead to better treatment and outcomes for patients."

Ebersole was instated as president at the AADR Annual Meeting in March in Washington, D.C. His term will run through March 2011.
