UK employees invited to use new myUK portal as part of preview

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 27, 2025) — University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (ITS) is announcing the launch of the new myUK portal — Employee Public Preview at preview.myuk.uky.edu.
This preview of the new myUK portal invites employees with active linkblue accounts to get early access to functions — including requesting and approving time off and enrolling in benefits — inside a newly designed portal. Employees can preview the new myUK portal beginning May 27.
During the employee preview phase of the new myUK portal project, employees are encouraged to use the new portal, just like the current one (myuk.uky.edu), to ensure functions are working as expected.

Why is UK ITS inviting employees to a preview version of the new myUK portal?
Employee participation and feedback are crucial to helping the university have a smooth transition to the new myUK portal at a future date. Here are a few things ITS is asking that UK employees do during the preview phase:
-
Explore new navigation and perform tasks: Take some time to explore the new myUK portal (preview.myuk.uky.edu) and familiarize yourself with its features. Need to request time off? Do it through the new portal.
-
Provide feedback: Your feedback is invaluable. Let ITS know what you like and what could be improved in the feedback form.
-
Stay informed: Keep an eye out for updates and resources on the new myUK portal project.
Important things to remember
-
Any functions performed in the new myUK portal are live. For example, if you request time off in the new portal, it will go to your supervisor for approval.
-
Both preview.myuk.uky.edu (the new portal) and myuk.uky.edu (the current portal) can be used interchangeably as they share the same backend data. Any updates made in one portal will be reflected in the other.
-
The current portal will remain active until further notice.
-
Access within the portal is restricted by role.
-
The new portal does not include applications or tabs like Enterprise Services, Shopper, SRM, Payment Request or student-related items. These will be added in at a later date and can be found in the current myUK portal in the meantime.
-
Students will also be invited to preview the new portal and try out student functions at a future date.
