UK Classes Canceled, Offices Closed Friday, March 6

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 5, 2015) — University of Kentucky classes for Friday, March 6, are canceled and only Plan B (essential) employees are required to report to work. UK HealthCare clinics and hospitals are open and operating on a normal schedule. UK will continue with planned events Friday and Saturday for Merit Weekend.

Cancelations and Postponements
- The Cultural Diversisty Festival's International Talent Night and 10,000 Villages program scheduled for Friday, March 6, is canceled. Information regarding the potential of a future date will be shared when available.
- Thursday night's UK Percussion Group concert of Middle East music with percussionist Yousif Sheronick at the Singletary Center has been canceled.
- The Thursday, March 5 performance of "Tales of Hoffman" by UK Opera Theatre has been rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the Lexington Opera House. The pre-concert lecture by Diana Hallman will be rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday before the Saturday evening show. Current tickets will be honored for the new show date, so ticketholders will not need to do anything if they can attend the new show time.Ticket holders unable to attend the new show time can exchange their tickets to one of the other performances: 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6; 7:30 p.m. Saturday March, 7; or 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8. listed below. If unable to attend any of these performances, full refunds are available through the original point of purchase. Bus Information
On Thursday, March 5, Lextran Stadium Route and CATS Red and Blue Routes will not operate; however, the CATS Break Route will provide daytime campus service. UK HealthCare and Kentucky Clinic Shuttles will run on normal schedules. CATS Night Route and On-Demand will also run on a normal schedule.
On Friday, March 6, Lextran Stadium Route and CATS Red and Blue Routes will not operate; however, the CATS Break Route will provide daytime campus service. Buses that are still operating during campus emergency closures/delays will be contingent upon campus conditions. Service may be interrupted due to imminent severe weather, road conditions, or at the direction of emergency officials.
