NCAA Volleyball Championships to Impact North Campus Parking Dec. 7-8

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2017) The University of Kentucky is hosting the regional semifinals and regional final of the 2017 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships at Memorial Coliseum this Friday and Saturday. As a result, north campus parking will be impacted beginning on Thursday, Dec. 7. Due to the high demand of parking related to the event, Transportation Services has made additional accommodations to those previously announced.

The College View Lot, located between Wildcat Coal Lodge and Rose Street, will be unavailable for general parking on Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday, Dec. 8. The lot will be used for tournament operations. This lot is an intermediate employee lot and contains 46 spaces.

Employees with valid intermediate E permits who typically park in the College View Lot have several alternative parking options. Impacted employees may opt to park in other intermediate E lots in the north campus area, which include King Alumni Lot, Linden Walk Lot, Reynolds Lot, Scott Street Lot, Taylor-Dickey Lots or the Comers Lot.

Additionally, the South Limestone Garage (PS #5) will be utilized as an option for fan parking on Friday, Dec. 8, beginning at 10 a.m.

Impacted employees may opt to park in other intermediate E lots in the north campus area, which include the High Street Lot, the King Alumni Lot, the Linden Walk Lot, or the Reynolds, Scott Street, Taylor-Dickey or Comers Lots.  In the event that the South Limestone Garage is at capacity, C5 permit holders may park in the C9 areas, which include the Reynolds, Scott Street, Taylor-Dickey and Comers Lots, or in the K areas at Kroger Field.

Employees who park in other north campus lots should anticipate possible increases in demand for parking in their preferred area, familiarize themselves with alternative parking options and plan their commute accordingly.
