LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 15, 2023)  University of Kentucky faculty and staff now have access to one of the world’s largest online professional developments tools.

UK HR Training & Development is sponsoring a LinkedIn Learning pilot program through April 11, 2024. LinkedIn Learning, formerly Lynda.com, is an on-demand learning solution designed to help you gain new skills and advance your career.

LinkedIn Learning is available at no cost to all active faculty and staff (including temporary employees) at UK.

“LinkedIn Learning will be great for individuals who have difficulty finding time to participate in traditional training due to their busy schedules, as it is available on demand,” said Becky Dysart, UK HR director of Training and Development. “In addition, it will supplement learning opportunities offered by HR Training & Development and other UK training areas, whether in person, virtual or web-based.”

Dysart added that the continuation of the program after the pilot program period will be based on utilization rates. LinkedIn Learning can be accessed through this link via single sign-on using your LinkBlue ID and password.

With LinkedIn Learning, UK employees will be able to:

  • Access up-to-date content and expert-led courses.
  • View courses on demand on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Get 24/7, unlimited access to more than 16,000 business, design and tech online courses.
  • Learn in-demand skills.
  • Sample content categories including project management, marketing, finance, data science, web development, product and manufacturing, video, graphic design, and user experience

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
