LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 26, 2017) — The University of Kentucky Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE) and the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) proudly announce the first Demo Day of the new UKAccel program.
The UK OTC and VACE are partners in the UKAccel program, which offers a professional development and experiential learning opportunity to UK researchers interested in turning their intellectual property into a potential startup. With guidance from the OTC and VACE, qualified participants take part in an immersive experience in entrepreneurship culture. The goal is to discover if launching a startup company is right for the individual researcher.
Participants of the first UKAccel cohort group are:
- Enepret, led by Chase Kempinski, with Joe Chappell;
- OpenEddi, led by Kate Eddens;
- Nocrobix, led by Sylvie and Oleg Tsodikova; and
- NeuroShift, led by Josh Lile, Michael Wesley, Dillon Huffman and Arit Harvanko.
Each UKAccel team will have the opportunity to present their pitch during Demo Day. One winner will be selected, and will receive one month of free space in Base 110, downtown Lexington's new co-working space.
All faculty, staff, undergraduate students, postdoctoral students and graduate students are encouraged to attend and show their support for these emerging entrepreneurs from the University of Kentucky.
Light refreshments will be available.
