OLLI at UK in Somerset Hosts Picnic

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 24, 2010) − The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Kentucky in Somerset, offering continued learning courses for adults age 50+, is hosting an end of semester potluck picnic from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8th at the Pisgah School House in Somerset. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UK is an outreach and service program at the UK College of Public Health.
 

Attendees are invited to bring a potluck dish and learn about all the OLLI courses in Somerset and the many ways to get involved. Courses are offered each Fall and Spring in community locations on such topic areas as computers, culture, history and government, health and wellness, and the environment.
 

Learning can be a consistent source of happiness throughout people's lives, and there is increasing evidence that it contributes to health and wellbeing as we age. OLLI at UK continues a 45 year tradition of lifelong learning, now extended to Morehead and Somerset.

The Pisgah School House is located on Pisgah Church Rd. in Somerset. From Highway 27 in Somerset, turn west at stoplight #25 onto KY 1642. Drive 3/10 of a mile and take a left onto Pisgah Church Rd.
