LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 26, 2020) Researchers at the University of Kentucky need help in learning how to stop the spread of COVID-19. You can make a difference by completing a survey for the COVID-19 Prevention Project, part of the Wellness, Health, and You (WHY) research program which seeks to understand how different life experiences affect wellbeing.

Scientists and doctors still have much to learn about the COVID-19 virus. Our social nature is part of the problem — the virus spreads between people who are near each other — so it is very important that we understand what people are doing to prevent infections. The COVID-19 Prevention Project will ask about how you are protecting yourself. Understanding how to stop the spread of the disease is crucial to saving lives and re-opening the economy.

Taking the COVID-19 Prevention Survey is a way for you to help the worldwide effort to end the pandemic. People from all walks of life, especially groups that are often not included in health research, such as people of color, the LGBTQIA community, people with disabilities, people from rural areas and women are needed to take the survey which takes about 15 minutes to complete.  All information is kept private.

Please share the survey on social media with #COVIDPreventionProject. Forward the survey to your family, friends, and coworkers and encourage them to help COVID-19 research by responding.

WHY members also receive health information and research participation opportunities relevant to them.
