Search Committees Formed for UK College of Design, College of Health Sciences Dean Positions

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2013) —The University of Kentucky is searching for top Dean candidates for two of its colleges. To facilitate the process, University of Kentucky Provost Christine Riordan said that search committees for Dean  in both the UK College of Design and the UK College of Health Sciences have been formed.

For both positions, the searches are national and international in scope and open to both external and internal candidates. 

"My commitment to the UK community and to these colleges is that we will continuously provide updates as the searches for these important leadership positions continue," Riordan said. "The campus's involvement and support is critical to both processes and to the future of the university."

Advisory committees also have been appointed and charged with identifying, screening and recommending candidates for both positions for final selection by the Provost. 

College of Design

Wallis Miller from the School of Architecture and Michael Tick, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, will serve as co-chairs of the advisory committee for the College of Design deanship search. The committee members are:

College of Health Sciences

Carl Mattacola from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, and Sharon Turner from the College of Dentistry will serve as co-chairs of the advisory committee. The committee members are:
