Calling All Dogs for Pictures With Santa PAWS
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 2, 2016) — PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare and Services) is hosting its second Pictures with Santa PAWS! Bring your dog for a photo shoot with Santa from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in the School of Art and Visual Studies! There is a $5 minimum donation per animal.
This event welcomes all friendly dogs (on a leash) to take a picture with Santa! All donations benefit a local, nonprofit rescue called Paris Animal Welfare Society, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in Paris, Kentucky.
PAWS is a student volunteer organization that is dedicated to the welfare of animals. The organization strives to educate the public, breaking down the walls of discrimination of "bully-breeds" and taking a stand against Breed Specific Legislation through such education. They organize several local volunteer opportunities with reputable animal adoption and welfare organizations. It is their mission to positively impact the lives of any animal in need through volunteer efforts, educating the public and advocating for those who need a voice.
The School of Art and Visual Studies is located at 236 Bolivar St. Enter from the Bolivar Street parking lot entrance and follow the signs. Free parking is provided in the lot and at the meters outside the building.
There will be a brief 30-minute lunch break from 12:30-1 p.m. for Santa. Guests are welcome to observe the art and enjoy refreshments during this time.
PAWS is a program housed in the UK Center for Community Outreach (CCO). The CCO seeks to serve, connect and unite the University of Kentucky with the surrounding community in collaborative efforts to promote lifelong community service.
