An Evening With Robert Irvine

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 26, 2012) — Eat right. Spend right. Live right. Robert Irvine will be speaking on his experiences with healthy living and developing shows for the Food Network at 7 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 3, in Memorial Hall. This is a free event sponsored by the Student Activities Board Engaging Issues Committee.

At the age of 15, Irvine joined the Royal Navy, beginning his culinary career. He went on to serve for the Royal family as well as in the West Wing of the White House. Irvine's programs on the Food Network include "Dinner: Impossible," "Worst Cooks in America "and "Restaurant: Impossible."

“A lot of people seem to recognize Robert Irvine’s name,” said Sydney Dobson, SAB director of engaging issues. “We hope to get people living healthier lives. Not only ramen noodles can be made in a dorm.”

A question and answer session with attendees will follow Irvine’s lecture.

SAB brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
