Mix and Mash with SAB and the Super Mash Bros
Lexington, Ky. (Aug. 23, 2010) – Don’t miss this year’s biggest “mixer” as mash-up artists Super Mash Bros turn the Harris Grand Ballroom in the Student Center into a dance party for 1,300 students at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug 26. This event is sponsored by the Student Activities Board (SAB).
Super Mash Bros, Nicolas Fenmore, Dick Fink and Ethan Dawes, are three full-time college students from Los Angeles. They combined their love for music and technology to become one of the top five mash-up groups out today. According to their website, they are, “scientifically proven to get your booty movin” and have been known to mix all sorts of popular and alternative music so that you keep your feet dancing and your glow bracelets and beach balls in the air all night long!
For example, take a listen to their track “Living the Dream (I’m on a Float)” where they mix Kanye West and Twista’s “Overnight Celebrity” with Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” and follow it with the Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” mixed with Huey’s “Pop, Lock & Drop It” and Ludacris’ “What's Your Fantasy.” Their album is available for free download at http://www.supermashbros.com/music.
“Last year SAB brought Girl Talk to campus during K Week and the concert was a huge success with a lot of students saying how much they enjoyed it,” said Chris Duncan, director of SAB’s concert committee. “SAB wanted to bring that same high energy vibe to campus again.”
Every concert-goer also receives a free glow-in-the-dark wristband upon entry.
Tickets are on sale now. This concert is FREE for students and $10 for general public at the Student Center Ticket Office. Students need to bring their valid UK ID to receive a free ticket. Regular Ticket Office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
