Park Closer To Study
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 8, 2009) – As temperatures drop and the semester winds down, many UK students are seeing their time spent on campus and in the library increase in preparation for final exams. UK Student Government, with the help of UK Parking and Transportation, is hoping to help alleviate some of the stresses that come with these hectic weeks.
Starting Monday, Dec. 7 (the beginning of dead week), and running through the Friday, Dec. 17 (the end of finals week), students will have the opportunity to use a temporary parking pass that is valid for all surface lots, excluding R Lots, and the parking garage located next to K Lair. These passes, which cost $7 each, will be valid from the hours of 3:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. in order to accommodate late night library visits. $2 of the parking pass fee will go toward the UK Student Government Scholarship Endowment.
Parking passes are on sale now at the UK Student Center Ticket Office, 253 Student Center, which is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cash, check, credit card and UK Plus Account are all acceptable forms of payment. 1,200 parking passes are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
