See Tech Demos and Register for iPad Giveaway at UKIT’s 'Tech Tips Live'
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 16, 2012) — The annual student technology forum “Tech Tips Live” will take place from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Hub, in the basement of the William T. Young Library.
University of Kentucky students who attend will have a chance to win prizes, including one of two iPad 2 tablets, a digital camera, $100 Malone’s gift card, hats, T-shirts, backpacks and more. UK students are invited for free pizza, prizes, and technology information. Information tables and demonstrations at the event will feature UKMobile, student email, Open Class, libraries and Virtual Desktop ENvironment.
Virtual Desktop ENvironment, which will be known as “my Virtual DEN @ UK,” will provide UK students "anytime, anywhere" access to general student lab software on their personal devices (desktop, laptop, tablet) beginning in May 2012. These applications were previously only available in UK computing labs.
