Join Student Activities Board!

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 3, 2009) -- Are you ready to be involved on campus? Then UK's Student Activities Board (SAB) wants you! SAB is currently accepting applications for committee chairs and the SAB in the Halls program.

Applications for SAB committee chairs are due by noon Friday, Sept. 4, to the SAB office, 203 Student Center. SAB is composed of eight committees, each focusing on a different aspect of life at UK including: campus life, cinema, concerts, cultural arts, engaging issues, multicultural affairs, pop culture and traditions. All committee chairs support programming, promoting and supporting all board sponsored programs.

Committee chairs work closely with the current programming directors, committee members and the advising staff on programming and running the many SAB events. Applications are available here. For more information, e-mail SAB at uksab203@gmail.com or contact SAB President Corey Ballard at 257-8867.

"SAB in the Halls" is a new initiative to get SAB into the residence halls on-campus. The SAB in the Halls representatives will be members of their hall governments, however they will report to SAB via the director of public relations. Representatives will be expected to be knowledgeable about SAB and the events that we have to offer including creating a display board of all current SAB events. Representatives will work closely with the director of public relations, committee members, and the advising staff on promoting the many SAB events. Applications are available here and are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, to the SAB office, 203 Student Center. For more information about "SAB in the Halls," contact Andrew Flynn, director of Public Relations, at 257-8867 or via e-mail at Andrew.Flynn@uky.edu.

UK SAB works to enhance college students’ experiences by providing them and other members of the campus and local communities with entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends. For upcoming SAB events, visit http://www.uky.edu/SAB/events.php.
