Kick Back, Relax and Do a Little Painting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 26, 2015)  Join Student Activities Board Cultural Arts Committee for an evening combining art and relaxing mocktails at 5 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 27, in the Helen King Alumni House basement. Students have the chance to create beautiful artwork whether it be for residence hall room decoration or a desire to explore their creative abilities.

This event will provide the painting and cocktails experience to college students of all ages. Mocktails provided feature non-alcoholic twists on popular drinks. Spearheaded by the Wine & Canvas company, attendees will paint pictures using a paint-by-number method. All materials and apron will be provided.

“Painting and Mocktails is a great way for students to socialize with one another,” stated Taylor Hamilton, SAB director of cultural arts. “Our goal is to provide an immersive art experience that will leave them with a canvas and a new perspective of the role of art on campus.”

SAB brings more than 60 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lexington community.
