'Tech Tips' Aids Students With UK Technology

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 19, 2010) - It's a technological age, and University of Kentucky students who need help navigating the technology on campus have a new source of assistance. UK Information Technology (UKIT) has developed an informational document called “Tech Tips” to inform students of UK Technology products and services. Tech Tips also provides step-by-step instructions to change an e-mail password, set-up phone services and download free software.

The Tech Tips document will be distributed to incoming freshmen at Merit Weekends and Summer Advising Conferences. Current UK students can reference Tech Tips via the UKIT Web site at www.uky.edu/UKIT/files/TechTips.pdf

Because students know best what type of technical information other students need, Tech Tips was created by UKIT student employees.  Ashley Jackson, a junior broadcast journalism and political science major from Louisville developed Tech Tips, assisted by Bryce Robinson, a senior telecommunications major from Berea.
