Tiffany Haddish Announced as SAB Spring Comedian

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 7, 2018) — The University of Kentucky Student Activities Board is excited to announce Tiffany Haddish as their spring comedian. The show will begin 8 p.m. Monday, March 26, in the Singletary Center for the Arts.

Tiffany Haddish is quickly establishing herself as one of the most sought-after comedic talents in television and film. Haddish was most recently seen starring in Universal’s "Girls Trip" alongside Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah and Regina Hall. "Girls Trip" had the highest opening for an R-rated comedy in the past two years and Vanity Fair called Haddish “the funniest woman alive.”

Haddish’s journey in life has inspired her comedy and sense of humor on and off the stage. Growing up in foster care in South Central Los Angeles, it was her excessive talking and imaginary friends that prompted her increasingly flustered social worker to steer her into stand-up comedy. One of the comic's special passions is performing in the comedy show "Chuckles Not Knuckles," a program she developed for inner city high school students that promotes nonviolence.

“Having an African-American female comedian come to campus has been long overdue,” said Siera Arena, the director of Pop Culture. “I am excited to be a part of the process in making it happen for our student body!”

Tickets are $10 for students beginning Wednesday, March 7, and $25 for general admission beginning Wednesday, March 14, and can be purchased at the Singletary Center ticket office or at www.scfatickets.com. Additional ticketing fees apply. Students are permitted to purchase up to four tickets with four valid student IDs. The Singletary Center ticket office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
