A 'Wicked' Broadway Trip
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2017) — Most people dream of seeing a Broadway musical, well Student Activities Board (SAB) is here to make those dreams come true! For the past couple of years, students have been able to take a trip to a neighboring city to see a Broadway musical at a heavily discounted rate. This year’s show will be "Wicked" on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
"Wicked" is a classic. This trip isn’t just for theatre majors but for any and everyone who loves theatre or just loves to see a good show. A Broadway trip is a great way to break away from from all things stressful and enjoy the day with fellow classmates on a mini road-trip.
“Going to a Broadway show can be fairly expensive, so I am excited that we are able to offer students the opportunity to see a well-known play for such an amazing price,” said Courtney Marburger, the director of Cultural Arts. “It is a great opportunity for students who want to venture away from campus and Lexington for a day!”
There are limited spots available and students can purchase their tickets now at the Student Involvement Ticket Center in Bowman’s Den. Student tickets will be sold for $25. Faculty and staff tickets will be $50. Transportation and lunch will be provided for all attendees. Ticketholders will need to be at the Wildcat Statue at 10:30 a.m. the morning of the trip, as buses will depart for Cincinatti at 11 a.m.
SAB brings more than 60 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
