Kentucky Women’s Soccer Announces 2016 Promotional Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. – With ticket sales already reaching record highs in the offseason, the University of Kentucky women’s soccer program in conjunction with the UK marketing department released its schedule of promotions for the 2016 season on Monday afternoon.

One of the biggest draws and newest addition to the 2016 season will be “Dollar dog Sunday” on Sunday, Sept. 28 against Northwestern (1 p.m. ET, SECN+) where fans will be able to bring their dogs into the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex, for just $1 admission, in addition to getting $1 hot dogs from all concession stand locations.

The 2016 Kick-Cancer Match, which has been a staple at UK under Jon Lipsitz, will take place Sunday, Sept. 18 on national television against Alabama. The Wildcats will be wearing gold jerseys, the color of awareness for support against pediatric cancer, and those jerseys will be auctioned off with all proceeds benefiting DanceBlue and the fight against pediatric cancer.

“Pack The Bell” will be Thursday, Sept. 8 as UK kicks off Southeastern Conference play against Florida on national television at 7 p.m. ET. There will be a Thunderstix giveaway to fans in attendance and a post-match autograph session.

The home opener of the 2016 season is on Thursday, Aug. 25 against preseason top-25 South Florida at 7:30 p.m. ET live on the SEC Network+. All students in attendance will get free pizza, in addition to free admittance into the match with a valid UK student ID. All students will get into all home matches free of charge with a valid student ID all season.

Sunday, Sept. 11 will be “Heroes Day” as UK women’s soccer will honor all military personnel, police officers and firefighters for their service to America on this memorable day in the country’s history. There will be a mini American flag giveaway to fans in attendance.

Youth Night will take center stage on Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET as part of a doubleheader with UK men’s soccer. All youth ages 6-18 will get in for just $1, and youth teams can get in for free by e-mailing WeAreUK@uky.edu with interest. That night will also be Junior Wildcat Club Night, with free admission going to all members of the Junior Wildcat Club and one additional guest of their choice. The giveaway for this night will be a UK drawstring backpack.

Kentucky takes on Tennessee the night of Oct. 14, with that serving as 2016 Family Night at The Bell. Families of four can come out and get four hot dogs and four drinks in addition to complimentary admission for just $20. With this game running congruently with Big Blue Madness, all fans will receive free admission into the game, and will additionally be the first to have an opportunity to get their hands on a 2016-17 Kentucky men’s basketball poster.

Equipment Donation Night will be on Oct. 6 against Auburn at 7:30 p.m. ET, where fans can bring in new or gently-used soccer equipment and receive free admission for their kind gesture. In addition, fans will get a Kentucky Soccer clapper in addition to a post-match autograph session.

Senior Night will be Thursday, Oct. 27 against Georgia.
