LEXINGTON, KY. (Oct. 10, 2024) — DanceBlue is hosting its ninth annual silent auction on Nov. 8. The DanceBlue Committee invites guests to join them for an evening full of live music, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and good company for an even better cause.

All proceeds from the event support the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic in Kentucky Children’s Hospital and their patients and families.

Date: Nov. 8

Time: 6-9 p.m.

Location: The Cornerstone, 409 S. Limestone, Lexington

Tickets: Tickets can be purchased here.

Join the committee in celebrating DanceBlue’s 20th anniversary at one of their most anticipated signature events. This special evening will feature a vibrant silent auction with more than 80 incredible items, including curated boutique baskets, valuable gift certificates, unique DanceBlue Clinic art and much more. Following the silent auction, don’t miss the chance to bid on a selection of exclusive items during our live auction, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

The silent auction is a cornerstone of the year-round fundraising efforts, pivotal to DanceBlue’s mission of supporting patients and families at the DanceBlue Clinic. The organization is dedicated to providing care and support while advancing research to improve treatments for pediatric cancer. Since its inception in 2006, DanceBlue has raised more than $23 million, making a profound impact on the lives of children and families facing the most challenging battles. As the organization marks its 20th year, the committee invites everyone to support DanceBlue and help it continue its vital work. Community participation not only contributes to fundraising goals but also directly benefits the resilient kids and families they serve. Join the organization in making a difference and celebrating two decades of dedication and hope.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. Tickets bought before the event are $25 for students and $35 for community members (until 4 p.m. Nov. 8). Tickets will also be on sale at the door of the event at a price of $35 for students and $45 for community members. The Silent Auction serves as a spirit point opportunity for dancers fundraising to earn a spot on the floor at the 2025 DanceBlue Dance Marathon.

The dress code for the event is cocktail attire.

For any questions regarding the event or purchasing tickets, please contact Maria Hadjisavva, DanceBlue corporate relations chair, at corporate@danceblue.org.

DanceBlue is a student-run organization at the University of Kentucky that works tirelessly all year, every year, to raise money for the kids. DanceBlue fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. The organization raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer while supporting patients and families affected by it. Funds raised help provide financial and emotional support to families in the DanceBlue Clinic, as well as pediatric oncology research in hopes of one day finding a cure. DanceBlue will continue to spread joy to those fighting, to persevere in memory of the lives lost and to celebrate every victory until the battle against pediatric cancer is won.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
