KCH Needs Volunteers for Rolex Event

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 4, 2010) − Kentucky Children’s Hospital needs volunteers during the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, a world-class equestrian event featuring dressage, cross country and jumping. Volunteer opportunities are available April 17-26. In appreciation of the work of volunteers on behalf of Kentucky Children’s Hospital, the organizers of the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event make a significant donation to the hospital.

All volunteers enjoy the following benefits: an admission pass that can be used each day of the event, volunteer parking pass, one lunch or breakfast ticket and a store discount of 20 percent (does not apply to clearance items). Best of all, volunteers can feel good knowing they helped make a donation possible to support health care for children.

The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event takes place Tuesday, April 20 through Sunday, April 25. Volunteers are needed on event days to help in the official Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event Shop as well as the three days prior to the event to help with setup and one day after the event to help with teardown.

Volunteers helping with setup will be taking shirts and other merchandise out of boxes, folding and placing them on display. Set-up will be taking place April 17-19. Each day has two shifts: a morning shift from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and an afternoon shift from 1 to 6 p.m.

Volunteers in the Main Shop will be keeping merchandise on display in order, assisting customers, and bagging merchandise. The Main Shop will be open and in need of volunteers April 20-25. Each day has two shifts: a morning shift from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and an afternoon shift from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers helping with teardown will be folding and preparing merchandise for storage. Volunteer shifts for teardown are on Monday, April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 1 to 6 p.m.

Please contact Loralyn Cecil, Kentucky Children's Hospital, at (859) 257-1106 if you would like to volunteer or have any questions.
