Local Travel Stop Named One of Nation's Best

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 10, 2011) — A local travel stop with much love, and many balloons, to give is named the Children's Miracle Network's second largest fundraising stop in the country. Love's Country Travel Stop in Richmond, Ky., raised money to benefit the Kentucky Children's Hospital through balloon, drink and hot dog sales at an outdoor booth.

"We are so grateful for the efforts of the staff of Love's Country Travel Stop who were willing to work on their days off, and recruit their family members to help, to raise money for the children of Kentucky," said Aimee Baston, manager of annual giving and Children’s Miracle Network at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. "We are proud to partner with them to improve the health of Kentucky kids."

In 2010 the Arby’s Restaurant and Travel Stop raised a total of $20,762 to benefit the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.  The Arby's Restaurant was the No. 1 travel stop restaurant, raising $8,008 and the Travel Stop raised $12,754.

"We try to raise as much money as we can for Kentucky Children's Hospital because Love's loves our kids," said Kim Webb, store manager for the Arby's Restaurant.
