Your Health This Sunday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 11, 2009) -- Imagine the most excruciating pain you've ever experienced --  a sharp, stabbing pain, right behind the eyeball. Now imagine having that pain burst upon you several times a day, every day, for weeks at a time, even waking you from a sound sleep. Such is the pain of cluster headache.

In a guest column in Sunday's Lexington Herald-Leader, Dr. Tarvez Tucker, associate professor of neurology in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and director of the UK HealthCare Headache and Pain Clinic, gives information about cluster headache, its symptoms and treatment.

The column is part of an ongoing series of health columns by UK HealthCare experts appearing in each Sunday's edition of the Herald-Leader and online at Bluegrassmoms.com.
