Emmy Award-winning 'Grand Night' Returns to Singletary Stage

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 28, 2019)  University of Kentucky Opera Theatre will present the best from Billboard to Broadway in its Emmy Award-winning musical revue “It’s a Grand Night for Singing!” June 7-16, at Singletary Center for Arts.

Executive Producer Everett McCorvey will bring together again a company of more than 100 performers from the university and Central Kentucky in this beloved summer arts event known for entertaining guests of all ages. The 25th anniversary of "Grand Night" won the 2018 Ohio Valley Chapter Regional Emmy Awards in the Arts/Entertainment Program and the Audio Post Production categories.

The curtain will rise again for “Grand Night” 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 7-8 and 14-15, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9 and 16, at Singletary Center.

This is a reserved seating performance in the Singletary Center Concert Hall. Tickets are $45-55 for general admission, $40-50 for seniors, and $15 for students with a valid student ID. UK Opera Theatre is part of the School of Music at the UK College of Fine Arts. The school, currently celebrating its 100th anniversary, has garnered a national reputation for high-caliber education in opera, choral and instrumental music performance, as well as music education, music therapy, composition, and theory and music history.
